The 1600 sq ft “SECTS SHOP” had it’s soft opening 23rd April 2014 at new mall Orchard Gateway. Founded and curated by Singapore-based designers behind the fashion label DEPRESSION, Kenny Lim and Andrew Loh, the select shop houses new-to-Singapore International Menswear brands and Unisex Accessories, Bags, Shoes and even Home Ware. Positioned as a first-of-its-kind ‘Multi-Style’ Concept, the shop is divided into Sections (hence, SECTS) to cater to the various styles of Singapore men. There will be something for all men of all ages (and some women too), with more than twenty brands to choose from at prices starting from $15 for a pair of Kyototo socks to $69 for a NCE t-shirt, to $500 for a Human Potential jacket.
SECTS SHOP held it’s official opening with a private by-invite-only party on 14th June. Covered by lifestyle portal SENATUS.NET, the event was graced by celebrities such as singers Jocie Guo Mei Mei, actress Julie Tan, host Danny Yeo, Wild Rice Creative Director Ivan Heng, 91.3FM DJ Charmaine Yee, MTV’s VJ Rich and many other industry personalities such as Elim Chew. To match the store’s modern ‘Oriental Martial Arts’ vibe, the party had an Asian-theme complete with cardboard weapons for guests to ‘battle’ it out, and pinot noir in Chinese tea cups.

with a pugilistic theme – curating brands to represent the ‘masters’ of each
fashion genre. You’ll even be greeted with the words ‘WU LIN DA HUI’ when you
enter the store’

The opening was also in
conjunction with the launch of DEPRESSION’s new diffusion line, NOT COOL ENOUGH
(NCE). Singapore’s first k-pop inspired streetwear brand, NCE released it’s
VERSION 2.0, after a successful sell-out of the first season.
