The new collection from Singapore Men’s and Women’s label DEPRESSION.
Black, white, dots and stripes complete the look for this dysfunctional family of garments and misfit apparel. Like the label’s creators, this collection is a gathering of dysfunctional pieces that does not quite fit in to mainstream society. The hope for DEPRESSION, however, is for people to not reject and alienate the label and it’s collections simply because of their difference.
By contradicting the traditional appearance of what apparel should look like, the key pieces in this collection aim to celebrate the spirit of being different and the acceptance of simply not looking like the rest.
Key pieces for women: The broad ‘3-collared blouse’ offers the wearer three collars to wear alternately. The ‘balloon blouse’ is an unshapely circular top made to look like a balloon. The ‘upside-down dress’, as the name implies, is a dress worn upside-down.
Key pieces for men: The ‘polka dot tee’ takes the polka dot print beyond the fabric, with leather dots spilling from the tee. The ‘three-layered vest’ is actually three vests made into one. The ‘black blazer’ gives the classic blazer a twist by putting a hole, literally through its back.
